Growing by Giving Back

Today we're celebrating one of our own. Noel Edey who is a full time reporter at 91.5 CochraneNow has been awarded the Alberta 55 Plus Appreciation Award.

For over 40 years, Hot Dog Day has been Golden West's favourite way to give back to the listeners, showing them the same love they show by listening to the radio every day.

The Shaunavon native made it up to Riverview Village Estates for the contest, not expecting in the slightest how her night was going to go.

After 12 hours of fundraising on the air and hearing hundreds of stories from patients and hospital staff, the 13th annual Radiothon for Life in support of the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation has raised $185,683.81 towards a new MRI machine for southeast Saskatchewan.

This year, with the community's support, we were able to bring in a total of $31,240! Half of that jackpot went directly to The Family Place with the other half going to one lucky ticket holder.

"I think every year, with different fundraisers and different events that come up, this community just blows us away with the generosity," shared Winkler Food Cupboard board member Christina Wall at the conclusion of Food for All.

A draw over a month in the making saw a five-figure prize go home with a lucky VIP.

"The fill the truck food drive was another great success this year and it was just the community coming together to help out the food bank and it was really exciting. We brought in $1825 and we also brought in 680 lbs of food, so those are good numbers. That $1800...

From "All Hits, All the Time" to "Best Songs, Best Variety", Mix 96 has been bringing classics and the best music of today to Portage la Prairie for 20 years.

The 18th Annual 800 CHAB Family First Radiothon raised $229,880 for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation.

Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, together we raised $5,725 for the Rhineland and Area Foodbank.
