Located in the “Heart of the Wheat Belt”, Rosetown began as a farming community, named for its first English settlers, the Roses. When the Canadian National Railway reached Rosetown, the community experienced growth.
Since the discovery of Bakken shale oil and gas in 2009, Kindersley truly has become “The Energy City”. Incorporated in 1910, today Kindersley is home to the Goose Festival, its SJHL hockey team the Klippers, and the West Central Events Centre.
Broadcasting simultaneously, Rosetown’s CJYM 1330 AM and Kindersley’s CFYM 1210 AM cover the area with family-friendly programming in a mix of local news, weather, sports, with a special emphasis on farm information.
Country 104.9 FM gives our Kindersley and area audience a local choice for country music, as well as local news and information.
